Cyrus, Hemsworth enjoy date night

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth put split rumours behind them as they stepped out for a date.

The engaged couple looked relaxed and comfortable together as they enjoyed a movie night at ArcLight Cinemas in Los Angeles. Miley, wearing her engagement ring, held onto her fiance’s arm as they edged past photographers.

It marked their first public outing together since their holiday in Costa Rica in January, and follows speculation that their romance was on the rocks.

The 20-year-old singer and the 23-year-old Hunger Games star began dating in 2009 after starring together in romantic drama The Last Song and got engaged last year.

Miley has said she wants to keep their relationship out of the limelight. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, she insisted: “I wear a ring every single day. I don’t talk about my personal life, so that’s enough of an answer.”

She added: “I’m too honest. But this is who I am. The reason I never really loved acting was because you can’t be yourself. I don’t want to be an actor – I want to be an artist.”

Burgundy is back in Anchorman 2

The MTV Movie Awards 2013 - Los Angeles

The first full-length trailer of Anchorman: The Legend Continues has been released with Will Ferrell back in the role of newsreader Ron Burgundy.

The comedy sequel, due out in December, follows the original cast to New York where Ron has been scouted for a 24-hour news channel.

As the coiffed news anchor is seen saying in the trailer: “I’m gonna do the thing that God put Ron Burgundy on earth to do – have salon quality hair and read the news.”

It looks as though Ron could have a new lady in his life, played by Meagan Good, with scenes showing the pair out for dinner, and Ron meeting and offending her family.

Brick, the mentally challenged weatherman played by Steve Carell, looks like he could be in for a bit of romance too with a new character played by Bridesmaids star Kristen Wiig.

The returning cast include Paul Rudd as Brian Fantana, David Koechner as Champ Kind, Christina Applegate as Veronica Corningstone and Vince Vaughn as Wes Mantooth.

Anchorman’s sequel has attracted an all-star cast since the first hit film in 2004, with appearances lined up for Tina Fey, Nicole Kidman, Liam Neeson, Harrison Ford, Kirsten Dunst, Sacha Baron Cohen and Kanye West.

John C Reilly and Luke Wilson will also be back in their roles as rival newscasters.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues is due to be released in cinemas on December 20.

Kesha: I like to show off my legs

Graham Norton Show - London

Kesha has revealed she works really hard on toning her legs, and so likes to show them off in skimpy hot pants.

The 26-year-old singer spoke to Self magazine about her body issues, admitting: “I don’t have a perfect body.” But she revealed she thinks it’s important to “celebrate what you’ve got”.

Kesha said: “For me, I like showing off my legs because I work really hard on them. So you will rarely find me wearing pants.”

The Tik Tok star revealed she tries to be healthy, but she refuses to weigh herself.

She said: “I’m not always perfect but I try to keep a balance in my life. I stay far away from a scale because it’s not about a number, it’s about how I feel. I try to eat healthy because it makes me feel good.”

Kesha is clearly comfortable with her body. Last month she told talk show host Conan O’Brien she writes music by trailing her breasts over a piano.

She explained: “They go onto the keys and I just let them tickle the ivories. They really just go crazy, and all of a sudden, I have these chord progressions.

“It started as a joke but it’s produced some of my favourite songs on my new record.”

Edward Furlong charged with assault

'Green Hornet' Premiere - Los Angeles

Terminator 2 star Edward Furlong has been charged with assault after a May 21 incident in which his girlfriend called police and reported he attacked her.

Deputy District Attorney Linda Loftfield said Furlong pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Tuesday.

Furlong already has two pending misdemeanor battery cases. He allegedly violated a restraining order when he returned to the victim’s West Hollywood home. He’s also accused of damaging a laptop and photo equipment.

In March, the 35-year-old actor was sentenced to six months in jail for violating his probation in a 2010 case for violating a similar restraining order.

Furlong has been the subject of such orders taken out by both his ex-wife and ex-girlfriend.

He is being held on 100,000 dollars bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for July 1.

Kung Fu Panda 3 to begin filming

Kung Fu Panda 2 Premiere - London

Jack Black’s third instalment of Kung Fu Panda is due to start production in August, with a hefty amount of work taking place in China.

A third of the film’s production is set to be done by Oriental DreamWorks in China, with the rest being done in the US, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Oriental DreamWorks board member Peter Li made the announcement at the Shanghai Film Festival at a panel event called Chinese Capital’s Long March To Hollywood.

But former Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Scientists Sid Ganis who now works in China said: “Of course there will be Chinese investment in American studios, but a much more important issue to address is the cultural issue… It should be about integration and not conquering Hollywood.”

Kung Fu Panda 3 will also feature the voices of Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Rebel Wilson, Dustin Hoffman and Lucy Liu.

The film recently had its release date brought forward from 2016 to December 2015.

Paglen to write Prometheus sequel?

British Independent Film Awards - 2012

Prometheus 2 seems to be gaining speed, with Jack Paglen now in discussions to write the sequel.

The Transcendence screenwriter is reportedly in talks to write the script for the follow-up to Ridley Scott’s sci-fi movie, reported Variety.

Damon Lindelof, who penned the first film with Jon Spaihts, revealed earlier this year that he had chosen not to return to write the sequel.

Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are expected to return in their starring roles as David and Dr Elizabeth Shaw respectively. It has not been confirmed if Ridley will return to the director’s chair, although he will continue to produce through his Scott Free Productions company.

20th Century Fox is targeting a 2014 or 2015 release date for Prometheus 2.

The 2012 film, which made over 400 million US dollars worldwide, is loosely created as a prequel to Ridley’s Alien and followed a team of explorers trying to save the future of the human race from aliens.

Ridley previously told Movies.com: “From the very beginning, I was working from a premise that lent itself to a sequel. I really don’t want to meet God in the first one. I want to leave it open to [Elizabeth Shaw] saying, ‘I don’t want to go back to where I came from. I want to go where they came from’.

“If we’ve opened up this door – which I hope we have because I certainly would like to do another one – I’d love to explore where the hell she goes next and what does she do when she gets there…” he added.

Britney’s sons star in music video

The 21st Annual Sir Elton John Oscar Party - Los Angeles

Britney Spears’ sons are to star in the video for her new single Ooh La La, which features on the soundtrack for the Smurfs 2 movie.

Britney has revealed her sons from her marriage to Kevin Federline, seven-year-old Sean Preston and six-year-old Jayden James, are massive Smurfs fans, and were really excited to be a part of her video.

The 31-year-old singer told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show: “I have always loved the Smurfs as a kid and now my boys are the biggest Smurfs fans EVER.

“They were actually really, really good on set. They were, like, acting, and my oldest son, Preston, was right on cue every time they would tell him to do something.

“Later on I got to see what they actually did on camera and it was adorable. I know they’ll think it’s Smurftastic!”

Britney unveiled the track on Twitter and said it was “for my two precious boys”. She revealed they are “obsessed” with the Smurfs and have seen the movie “a million trillion times”.

The star has previously revealed she thinks her sons will follow her into showbusiness.

She said in an interview in 2011: “When I’m on the road they come with me and they love being on the road. They are in awe, they come home and copy the dancers’ moves and try to get on their heads and do spins and do all these things. They’ll probably be in the entertainment business, definitely.”

And last year she admitted she had mixed feelings about them being in the spotlight.

She said: “If there was something they really wanted to do and were passionate about, I’d encourage them to follow their dreams. But I’d also be there behind the curtain saying, ‘No, don’t go out there’.”
